The Cliffs of Moher are one of those places that really do live up to the hype. The sheer size of the cliffs and the views of the Atlantic Ocean are impressive, and pictures honestly don’t capture how dramatic they are when you’re standing there.

The biggest downside is the weather. Ireland’s weather can change quickly, and fog, rain, or heavy winds can seriously affect the experience. It can also get pretty crowded during the middle of the day, so going earlier or later can make your visit much more enjoyable.

We’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re traveling through western Ireland. You don’t need an entire day—the main experience can easily be done in a couple of hours. Our honest rating: 4.5 out of 5. Beautiful, memorable, and absolutely worth seeing, but try to pick a day when the weather cooperates.
